PITTSBURGH, PA — Hip Hop artist and community activist Jasiri X returns to the music scene with POWER featuring Sa-Roc, Quadir Lateef and Blak Rapp Madusa. POWER, an acronym for People Oppressed Will Eventually Rise, is the title track off his new album helmed by famed London producer Agent of Change.
Sa-Roc recently signed with independent powerhouse Rhymesayers Entertainment and Quadir Lateef just inked a deal with the legendary Hip-Hop label Ruff Ryders Entertainment. 1Hood’s own Blak Rapp Madusa was this years headliner of Pittsburgh’s Ladyfest.
Jasiri X is scheduled to perform at the at Many Rivers to Cross festival on October 1-2, 2016 alongside Carlos Santana, Estelle, Public Enemy, Dave Matthews, John Legend, Common, TI and Macklemore.
Additionally, Jasiri is also participating in the #SchoolsNotPrisons tour, a free music and art tour that partners with California communities impacted by the overuse of punishment and incarceration. The tour promotes “non-violence and activism by young people,” and encourages “voting as a key way for communities committed to safety, justice, and peace to join in solidarity to make change.” The next stop is in Los Angeles, California on September 30, 2016.
