It was a phenomenal turnout for Let’s Talk III – Rules of Engagement on Friday evening in Overtown as well as the Special Edition of Teen Table Talks on Saturday morning.
A very special thank you to esteemed group of 13 panelists that accepted our invitation, our moderator of the evening, and the high turnout of millennials! The conversation was so engaging that we ran into overtime and we want to express our appreciation for each of them staying until the end to close out the event with recommended solutions and commitments. Solutions are not created in a day and not everyone is going to agree on the methods but we must continue to communicate!
Thank you to the Southeast Overtown Park West CRA and Commissioner Keon Hardemon for allowing us to host the weekend at the brand new Overtown Performing Arts Facility. Everyone in attendance had extremely positive comments about the facility!
Saturday Special Edition of Teen Table Talks
Thank you to the City of North Miami Beach for transporting our Teen Table Talk Teens down to Historic Overtown to take part in a two (2) part workshop presented by Jesse & Deric Muhammad. The first interactive workshop dealt with Confidence & Belief in self, Winning in everything you do, and Responsibility & Accountability. Session I closed out with Social Media Etiquette and how teens can use social media responsibly and to generate revenue.
Session II was also interactive and focused on showing teens how to lessen the size of their excuses and inflate their drive to become a serious GOALDIGGER!
Participants were provided breakfast and a close out lunch was provided by House of Wings. University of Miami TV was on hand conducting interviews with the workshop presenters as well as the youth in attendance.
Don’t let the weekend just be a Moment, leave here and go create a Movement!
