“I first met Brother Jesse with his mother in 1995 who at the time was a member of St. John’s Downtown where I serve as pastor. His mother would bring her children to church with her.
Upon meeting Jesse I knew immediately that there was something different and intense about this young man. I later discovered he was not only brilliant but was also determined to reverse the conditions that had negatively affected his family throughout his childhood.I have witnessed Brother Jesse put his message to work in his own life throughout the years and has proven to be a natural leader. Over the years I have watched Brother Jesse serve his community and the world through a variety of high impact events ranging from providing support to victims of Hurricane Katrina to providing significant organizational support during the community response during the Jena 6 incident. Brother Jesse is clearly a leader for now and the future of our community.”
