On April 4, Queendom Come, Inc (QCI) moderated a community town hall meeting on #ProtectOurDaughters. This town hall was a collaboration of many organizations coming together to protect our daughters and make our neighborhoods a decent place to live. The panelists were Valerie A. Muhammad of MGT & GCC Southwest Region, Robert S. Muhammad of Mosque No.45 National Black United Front – Houston Chapter, There Down That, Fundi Fe, Sandra Deckard and Aina Jinaki.
QCI is organizing against sex-trafficking around the areas of Awareness, Education, Victim Restoration, Self Defense and Economics. If you are interested in joining one of these committees contact them via their Facebook page. The sex trafficking industry makes over $1 billion dollars in a year in Houston, Texas alone, according to organizers.
“This is a sophisticated and organized criminal enterprise. Our community must become just as organized to fight this evil and #ProtectOurDaughters,” they said in a statement on their Facebook page.
