What an awesome way to kick off the day! Was honored to return to Lockhart Elementary School to continue participating in HISD’s “Real Men Read” mentoring program in which men volunteer at least one hour a month to read to students and engage in a dialogue on the content of the book.
This time I was teamed up with the mighty brothers from Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. The class I was assigned to read the book “Freedom on the Menu: The Greensboro Sit-Ins”.
These young people are so POWERFUL! Their responses to the questions were full of depth. I always enjoy speaking in schools to the greatest generation.
Salute to my little sister Tulinagwe Muhammad for getting me signed up to do this at her school!! Looking forward to next month. #RealMenRead #GiveBack
