On Saturday, April 25, 2009, my older brother Edward Jackson was honored by the National Women of Achievement, Inc (NWOA) at their annual Stars of Houston Prayer Breakfast.
Every year the organization acknowledges special citizens who make a difference in their communities by investing their time and talents. The NWOA was founded by Madame Maudest Walls Stewart of Houston, Texas in 1975.
Ed, as he is genuinely called my family and friends, is a product of Forest Brook Senior High School located in Northeast Houston. Upon graduation he served four years in the U.S. Marine Corp. After that four-year stint he moved back to Houston and would eventually land a job at Compaq Computers. During his 5 years at Compaq as a Warehouse Chief, he was able to obtain his Associates degree in Computer Science from MTI (Microcomputer Technology Institute) in Houston. Upon graduation he left Compaq to accept a job with Dell Computer Corp in Austin, Texas.
He has been with Dell for over nine years and is currently a Project Manager on the Enterprise Deployment Team. Ed is also working to obtain his Project Management Certification. He makes time to volunteer with several different charity organizations and enjoys traveling the world.
Proceeds from this annual event benefits the NWOA’s Youth Scholarship Program.
Congrats Big Brother! We are proud of you.
