Derrick Muhammad: You’ve said that Blacks are being unrealistic because they expect President Obama to be able to perform the same as other Presidents. What do you mean by this?
Dr. William Sommers: Brother let’s be realistic for one second. First, none of the presidents prior to President Obama had any real power. Everyone should know that the banks are essentially ruling this country and the world. However, President Obama still belongs to a powerless collective. That’s why he had to have a beer summit. George Bush would’ve never had to make that gesture. So we have to examine this very shrewdly. And it’s because Blacks globally can’t assist President Obama if he stepped outside of the box or comfort zone that Whites have created for him. And we don’t have technological power, military power, and economic power. He belongs to a group that uses twitter, but doesn’t invent it. He belongs to a group that uses facebook, but hasn’t invented a facebook. He belongs to a group that likes Microsoft but the group hasn’t created anything comparable. The group can’t protect him in the military because the military is designed to protect White Supremacy. The group that he belongs to doesn’t print money; they can’t trade globally.
So if he doesn’t play the game, he could quickly become a pawn because he’s the only one that has the ability to move up and down the chess board. And grant it, we show our readers how to regain power in every sector; it will take at least four years before they can really have power. And that’s accelerated.
Derrick Muhammad: We’ve had countless Black leaders try to help us, why aren’t we in a better position collectively?
Dr. Janice Anderson: Blacks started off fighting social problems and those leaders became leaders not because they wanted to – but by default and necessity. They didn’t have the privilege of going to a Harvard Leadership training program in the 1800s – 1900s. They didn’t even have the ability to take time and think and plan. All of their strategies were to counter abuse and slavery. Blacks weren’t groomed during those times to be leaders. So a lot of our organizations lacked the internal leadership skills that are crucial to take the Black community to the next level. Their organizational infrastructures were under developed because they were primarily designed to counter short-term and immediate nuisances. The plans were on an emergency basis. So they were crude and thought out quickly for survival.
Dr. William Sommers: And those type of leadership skills were passed down from one generation. Now there are seminars. And there are books like 48 laws of power and various other materials. But no opponent will give you their playbook on how to win. And no opponent will teach you to not be exploited by them.
