Saviours’ Day is an annual Nation of Islam commemoration of the birth of Master Fard Muhammad, the Great Mahdi of the Muslims and the Messiah of the Christians who appeared in North America on July 4, 1930 and declared that the 400 years of bondage Blacks served in America had ended.

As many people are writing to me for personal answers as to what we should and should not eat, I think it would lessen my work and be wise if you kept this book where you may refer to it when needed.
Many of my followers write and tell me of the results they are receiving from eating one meal a day or one meal every other day. This will produce good results and lengthen our lives. But children should not be forced to fast or to eat once a day or once every other day.
Children and babies should eat at least twice a day. If you are now eating three meals a day and you would like to eat one meal every other day, you should not–all of a sudden–change from three meals a day, every day, to one meal every other day.
First drop to two meals a day, then one meal a day, and then one meal every other day. It is better to do it this way so that you will not make yourself sick. And if you eat every other day, do not begin your meal with heavy food.
I receive many questions in regard to meat, fish, and poultry. The main thing Allah, as well as the Holy Qur’an, reminds us of is that when it comes to meat and fish, Allah forbids us to eat the flesh of swine or of fish weighing 50 pounds or more.
Although some people will not eat fish at all, there are many fish that we can eat; some weighing as little as a pound or a pound and a half.
When eating fish, we should confine our fish-eating to those fish weighing between one and ten pounds. As I said previously do not eat the scavengers of the sea such as oysters, crabs, clams, snails, shrimp, eels, or catfish.
The catfish is a very filthy fish. He loves filth and is the pig of the water. Some people write in, complaining about the fish that swim on their sides, but these fish can be eaten.
Allah has taught me that chickens are not good for us to eat. They are quite filthy (inasmuch as they do not eat the cleanest of food), but we eat them.
We eat beef and lamb; but Allah also said that they are not very good for us. It is not a sin for us to eat them. It is not a sin for us to eat camels. But if we can find better food, we should not eat the above mentioned food. Many write and ask if they should eat meat at all. It is not a sin for you to eat meat, but it is a sin for you to eat the meat of the hog.
If we want to prolong our lives, it is best that we do not eat meat or do not eat it so often. Beef is very coarse and many of our people do not eat it because of that. Horsemeat can also be eaten. It is cleaner than the average meat. But we should not eat it unless we are extremely hungry and have nothing else to eat because it is a domestic animal and is gentle and close to the home.
It is not even a sin to eat rabbit. But since Allah said that the rabbit is so closely related to the house cat, we do not eat it. The rabbit, however, is cleaner than the house cat because he eats vegetables, roots and herbs and he does not eat insects or other animals.
Allah has said that no wild game should be eaten at all. Regardless of how you love deer meat, the deer is not good to eat. No game that run wild in the woods or birds that fly, with the exception of baby pigeons, called squabs, that have never flown away from the nest where they were born, should be eaten. Please do not eat coons, possums, turtles, turtle eggs, or frog legs. None of these are good for us.

In November of 2019, Sister Ebony S. Muhammad, Publisher of Hurt2Healing Magazine and Web Designer of MODIC Design, decided to step out on faith in a way she had never imagined.
Every year members of the Nation Of Islam, their families and supporters come together to raise the Annual Saviours’ Day Gift, a token of love and gratitude for the several decades of service and dedication of The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan. The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, The National Representative of The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad, did not want those donating to come out of their pockets, but asked that they raise the gift. This was so that there would be no hardship in giving towards The Saviours’ Day Gift. Although Sister Ebony had donated every year, she decided to raise it by featuring talents and gifts she had never showcased before.
“I’m discovering the incredibly unique gifts that Allah (God) has deposited within me. I never imagined that this level of design and creativity was present. It’s deeply humbling. Ideas come to me, spontaneously. I could be reading or working on something else and the inspiration for a product or design comes through, and I follow it. It’s an emotional and spiritual experience that quite honestly overwhelms me. I’m just grateful, utterly grateful,” she described.
With this in mind, she decided to launch a full brand and marketing strategy that would feature at least three phases. “I wanted to feature all of these beautiful gifts, however, I knew that pacing myself and releasing each product line in phases would be a smart move. It would also create an ongoing effort with raising my Saviours’ Day Gift beyond 2020,” Sister Ebony shared. By Allah’s (God’s) grace, she not only reached the Saviours’ Day Gift goal of 2020, she exceeded it.
Even during the global pandemic, the Pestilence from Heaven as referred to by The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, her efforts did not waver one bit. Sister Ebony doubled down in her creativity and remained driven, inspired and motivated to reach her goal!
“The 2021 Saviours’ Day Gift season, which began in mid 2020, was very trying. We were and still are in the midst of the Pestilence from Heaven where going out has been very limited. So I utilized this time to refine my craft, the brand and the power of social media to drive attention and support to assist my Saviours’ Day Gift donation. I was very fortunate to have supplies and materials delivered to my home. I was not going to allow not being out at the ‘Buy Black’ markets to slow me down when there are many other avenues available to showcase MONARCH. By Allah’s (God’s) Mercy, it worked out in ways I couldn’t have imagined”, she expressed.
MONARCH currently has four Phases: Phase I – Genuine Leather Goods, Phase II: Clutches & Tech Cases, Phase III: Therapeutic Candles and Phase IV: Organic Coffee Brands.
With the exception of Phase IV, all of the other Phases feature products that are handcrafted by Sister Ebony.

Back to Phase I – Genuine Leather Goods
MONARCH has evolved its leather craft to now feature wallets in various styles and sizes,including minimalist card wallets, zipper wallets and bifold wallets.
“After watching a master leather craftsman deconstruct two designer leather wallets, I was stunned to witness that only 30-50 percent was actually leather. The rest was cardboard, cheap nylon and cardstock. These wallets retailed between $340 – $1,270 and they were mostly paper! Seeing this compelled me to design a collection of 100 percent genuine leather wallets, with no fillers, for a fraction of the cost. I want to provide a quality experience with a designer appeal, all the way through”, Sister Ebony conveyed.
MONARCH’s wallets are made with vegetable tanned calfskin. This particular cut of hide has a soft, supple texture that is also durable for the constant contact and usage of a wallet. All of their wallets are made by hand by Sister Ebony, which includes but is not limited to being hand cut, saddle stitched, sanded, burnished (finished/polished), edge coated, sealed and stamped with the official logo.
“Again, this was a creative experience I had never attempted before. I didn’t know I could achieve this level of detail and focus. Constructing leather wallets, on any level, was the farthest thing from my mind. It was the experience of receiving that inspiration and following it, challenging myself or rather giving over to the unseen gifts and talents that Allah blessed me with. I wanted to see what He put in me that I was being pulled towards, and it put me in a state of awe. It’s not me, it’s what He put within me to express His Glory and to bear witness to His Power, His Love. It’s calming, euphoric and therapeutic,” she detailed.
Not only did MONARCH launch genuine leather wallets, they also launched their very own line of All Natural Leather Care to help maintain the luster, appearance and condition of the wallets. Each product in the kit, including the polishing cloth, is handcrafted by Sister Ebony. The cleaner, balm and sheen are all skin safe and only contain 3-4 ingredients. “Packaging and presentation is everything to me! It’s all in the details. The short answer: I follow FARRAKHAN!
The longer answer: As a Believer and student of The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad under the Divine Guidance of The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, EVERYTHING that we have been taught and trained has been my saving grace! As a proud and active MGT&GCC (Muslim Girls’ Training & General Civilization Class), EVERYTHING that we are taught and trained has been my saving grace!
Let me be very clear. I have warranted concerns about this storm especially with extremely low temperatures and continuous power outages. Along with that, I am not experiencing anxiety, and there is a major difference between the two.
Several years ago The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan warned us to watch the weather. Since then, I began receiving google alerts for weather reports and I have the weather app on my phone that I check daily. The world can see that Minister Farrakhan’s warnings are not empty!
I was blessed to see this storm approaching the Wednesday before via my weather app. I went to the store for a few items on Thursday. The local news (from what I saw) didn’t report the storm until Saturday, which caused chaos and massive lines. Because of Minister Farrakhan’s instructions to watch the weather, I was blessed to get that early start and avoid crowds. We are still in a pandemic, the Pestilence from Heaven, so avoiding crowds is critical. ‘Watch the weather’ doesn’t just mean while it’s happening or after it happens. It also means before it happens. Just like in the case of Noah and the Ark. He prepared ahead of the storm and warned others ahead of the storm.
The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan instructed us to continue storing food and water during this time. All praise is due to Allah for his guidance!
We have been instructed to pressure can simple foods. I thank Allah for the MGT&GCC (Muslim Girls’ Training & General Civilization Class) and our brilliant Student National Captain Sister Naeemah Muhammad and her incredible staff for organizing and facilitating a formal training in pressure canning and water bath canning. Because of this class, I have been properly prepared for moments like this.
Our MGT class also inspired me to purchase certain inexpensive equipment in the case of loss of power! Yes, we lost both power and running water – most of the time at the same time. The guidance of The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad in How To Eat To Live teaches us how to maintain on simple foods and what to store in our homes and the method of boiling water to distill it. All of which saved me a tremendous amount of anxiety about food and water.
When I sat in my vehicle to run the engine, I saw so many of my neighbors leave and return with food and water in some of the most dangerous weather conditions. We have been instructed by authorities to stay off of the roads because they were considered unfit to drive on.
I see the communication threads of those nearby (community app) asking where they can buy food and if restaurants were open.
During our rolling power and water outages many in the community app were experiencing so much anxiety and frustration about losing power and water. I have to bear witness and thank Allah, Who appeared in the Person of Master Fard Muhammad, for The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad and The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan for our training that I could be prepared, as much as possible, patient and obedient during the outages.
I also keep a MP3 player full of messages by Minister Farrakhan and his student ministers. I listened to the comforting and powerful words of guidance during the outages. I have my books and workbooks from MGT class and publications of The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad that keep my mind engaged and my spirit elevated.
When the power and water came back on, I strategize to do tasks that required power and water in anticipation of being without both during another rolling outage, which happened and still is happening.
Although I’ve always been a very neat and clean person, our class in How To Keep House and the manual of keeping a clean and safe environment from our MGT class has been a phenomenal aid, because now I am inside of a building with many more people at the same time due to no one being able to leave. So being able to maintain and even increase my clean environment is also an effort to keep the results of other people’s less than clean habits at bay.
When I need to leave my home to tend to my vehicle or take the trash out, I have to anticipate passing by more people than usual. So having a supply of face masks (now doubled) to protect myself has been lifesaving! Our How To Sew class and face mask patterns and instructional videos have been lifesaving! To have the privilege of learning all of these skills AND put them into practice ahead of needing them have been lifesaving! To Believe in all that has been given to us for these exact moments, have been lifesaving!
Most importantly, remaining prayerful and tightening up my relationship and connection with Allah (God) has been my saving grace! Striving to keep up prayer throughout the day with or without power, praying for peace, calmness, patience and perspective has been my saving grace! Accepting what I can’t control and knowing Who is in full and complete control has been my saving grace! Feeling the Presence of Allah (God), feeding on the Word of God, knowledge, training, information … I bear witness that we have not been left comfortless, we have not been forsaken, we have not been left helpless or alone! This has been my saving grace!
I also thank Allah for my immediate family. During my entire childhood through high school we took camping trips (no electricity or running water or cabins) that taught me how to enjoy being without certain comforts by having the essentials and alternatives.
We also went on ski trips every single year from my childhood through high school, and I was taught on how to maintain in weather conditions I wasn’t used to. I remember being at the top of a slope with my mother who saw I was having trouble breathing due to the altitude and saw I was becoming scared. She instructed me to not cry because it would make my inability to breath worse. She also told me that my tears would seal my eyes shut because of the extreme cold temperature. In other words, don’t panic. Stay calm or things could get much worse. Understanding how to be calm in situations like this is critical and has been lifesaving!
Along with that, I grew up in a home that kept several cases of water at a time, canned foods, an enormous supply of batteries, lanterns in every room, flashlights, matches and emergency candles. Looking back at this helped me see that being prepared for what might come was normal and necessary!
For full disclosure, my parents and sisters are from New York, so they were raised in extremely cold weather. My parents also visited the Mosque in New York while in college and had Muslim friends. So I see that they’ve been impacted by the Teachings of The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad, directly and indirectly! All praise is due to Allah!
It is only by the Grace and Mercy of Allah (God) and The Teachings of The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad and Guidance of The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan that I am as calm as I am!
According to news reports, we are still not out of the woods. A city of Houston alert just went out warning of a Hard Freeze over the next 24 hours. Along with that, temperatures aren’t set to rise until Saturday or Sunday. We are still experiencing rolling outages of both power and water. Reports also state that this Winter Storm is moving to other parts of the country.
If you are not following the Divine Guidance of The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, you are literally risking your life and the life of your family and loved ones!

According to family and close companions of Mother Tynnetta Muhammad, her sole desire and life was driven by proving and validating the presence of God, as taught by her husband The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad, in every part of the world; no matter the continent, island, village or tribe. She traveled the world with the goal to manifest the most recognized image from previous editions of the Final Call Newspaper, which at that time was Muhammad Speaks, that illustrated unity of the original family across the globe. This image was the Vision of The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad. She wanted to expose and awaken as many as she could to the real vastness of God’s creations.
Her desire was for us to fully understand the mission, the bigger picture of why Master Fard Muhammad came and what He brought with Him to give to us. She wanted us to understand that what He brought was designed to get us to a state where the original people, the Indigenous people in other parts of the world, would see an awakening — and it would be at that time we could make the connection with them.
Mxodus Coffee Brand was and is fashioned to build cultural connections and bridges with our people in different parts of the world. To build a relationship that ties us closer to our brothers and sisters.
The coffee was and is the key to open doors to our Indigenous family. That’s what she was working towards. It’s so much deeper than coffee alone and she nor her legacy can be reduced to merely coffee.
She had a goal beyond the mundane things of life. What she was showing us and striving to give us was the broader aspect of The Teachings of The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad. She was seeking to show us that Master Fard Muhammad came to remind us of who we are and to get us back to our original state of being.
She traveled the world by the permission of The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad before his departure, and she continued to travel under the guidance of The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, all of which with the protection of God, to expose us to the bigger world so that we will find ourselves. She wanted to expose us to the greater signs of God in other parts of the world, which gives us the confidence and security that, “This planet is mine”.
She didn’t want us to be isolated to our block or side of town. To isolate and disconnect us from our global family is what the enemy wants to do.
The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad sought to give us a thorough knowledge of ourselves. Within the fabric of his Teachings is high civilization and self-development. The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan echoes his Teacher with the same goal through Self-Improvement study guides and the reiteration and expounding of The Teachings.
Mother Tynnetta Muhammad understood this deeply and wanted for all to see this as well. She dedicated her life to the vision of The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad uniting our people across the globe.
She believed that when you expose a people to the bigger world, they will find themselves. She believed that it would make it easier for us to put on the “clothes of God”.
It was said that Mother Tynnetta Muhammad was so focused on the mission/vision, deeply rooted in Islam, studious of the Lessons given by The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad that she could not be moved an inch from him by anyone.
She sacrificed and dedicated her life to prove the evidence and presence of God in every part of the world and to expose as many as she could to the truth and depth of who they are and Whose they are.

Saviours’ Day is the commemoration of the birth of Master W. Fard Muhammad, the Messiah of the Christians, Mahdi of the Muslims and teacher of the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad. He was born February 26, 1877 in the Holy City of Mecca in Arabia and traveled to America in search of the Black man and woman of America to teach and resurrect them from a “dead” state caused by over 400 years of systematic oppression, slavery and brutal mistreatment.
Detroit is where Master Fard Muhammad and the Hon. Elijah Muhammad first met in the early 1930s and where the first temple—as it was called then—of the Nation of Islam was established.
The last two years Saviours’ Day was held in Chicago, where Nation of Islam headquarters is located. CHICAGO-From its inception in 1979 until today, The Final Call newspaper has consistently delivered a message dedicated to the resurrection of the Black man and man of America and the world.

“Those of us who read Muhammad Speaks were delighted when we discovered that the Minister was relaunching it under a new masthead, The Final Call, because nowhere else could we get the kind of editorial content that was published in Muhammad Speaks,” said Dr. Conrad Worrill, chairman emeritus of the National Black United Front (NBUF) and longtime Final Call reader and contributing columnist.
Launched in the basement of Min. Farrakhan’s home in 1979, The Final Call has a reputation in the Black community by being a fearless, uncompromising seeker of truth. The year 2019 marked its 40th year of continuous publication. “Our people need a voice. They need a guardian, a watchman, someone who will stand and point out these dangers, and contradictions, call us to unity and to the word and mission and the saving message of the most Honorable Elijah Muhammad, which Min. The Final Call remains Black America’s sole nationally distributed, independent, Black-owned print newspaper. It also has a digital edition and an active presence on social media platforms. But before social media that brought news to people across the country in real time, The Final Call had reporters and writers connecting the dots by showing Black people in New York what was happening in Los Angeles and vice versa and covering all in between. In 1996, The Final Call amplified the three-part series by investigative reporter Gary Webb of the San Jose Mercury News that exposed a cocaine distribution network connected to the Central Intelligence Agency and the Nicaraguan Contras that helped ignite the South Central Los Angeles crack epidemic and feed the drug crisis in different parts of the country.
“The Final Call is really the only national weekly Black newspaper that we have in the United States,” said Dr. Ray Winbush, director of the Institute for Urban Research at Morgan State University. “The Final Call gives me news I can’t see anywhere else. Whether it was Trayvon Martin, the massacre in Charleston, and other similar events, The Final Call went into depth in these stories. Other publications just reported the facts, but The Final Call puts things into historical context.”
“Additionally, I love the repetition of What the Muslims Want section. Since the days of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad, the Muslims have been consistent on reparations. To repeat that every week reminds us of the task still ahead of us,” added Dr. Winbush. The Final Call championed the wrongly convicted, many rotting in jail for decades, long before mainstream media took notice.
“Last year I was staring death in the face but I am alive to keep fighting. I know it was due in large part to the support of Minister Farrakhan and the story that appeared in The Final Call newspaper. The Final Call helped to save my life. Without that story, my plight would not have spread as fast and my wrongful execution would have been carried out in darkness,” said Reggie Clemons in a Final Call interview referring to an article the newspaper published in June 2009. Furthermore, Minister Farrakhan has been able to send reporters overseas to conferences and to get firsthand accounts of international issues affecting Black people.
“Thanks to the brothers selling the paper, we are the only Black newspaper with the resources to send reporters throughout the world. We went to Switzerland to cover our people’s fight against genocide, Sudan to cover the North vs South issues, to Liberia to cover the war, to Kenya to investigate AIDS’ treatment discovery, to Zimbabwe to cover the land dispute and many more issues, events and conferences in South Africa, Nigeria, and Ghana,” said James G. Muhammad, a former Final Call editor in chief. He continues to work for the institution he helped build as a valuable and active contributing editor.
“The Final Call is the best paper in America. Not only Black America, it’s the best. It covers news that not only White newspapers but other Black papers don’t cover,” said Rev. Albert Sampson, a Chicago-based pastor, activist and longtime friend of Min. Farrakhan. “It has no corporate advertising and the distribution is phenomenal,” he said.
