My brother, Brother Jesse Muhammad offered me the opportunity once again to write a guest entry on his popular and award-winning online blog. How could I deny such a wonderful opportunity? I thought long and hard about what could be the topic of this blog series? Who would be the target audience? After spending some time thinking about the topic of this series, it finally hit me, “The Importance of Studying and How to Study!” So if you are reading this, you are reading the first blog entry. I’ll begin by briefly sharing my own personal experiences that led to my first book titled, “How to Study the Teachings of the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad,” which has been revised and retitled as, “38 Practical Methods to Use to Study the Teachings of Elijah Muhammad.” This powerful book can be ordered online at this very moment (smile).
My desire to write the book together stemmed from me wanting for my brothers and sisters what I want for myself. I remember how blown away I was and how I still am when I hear the Teachings of the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad. The profoundness of the Teaching naturally caused a desire in me to learn as much as I could about the Teachings of the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad. With that in mind, I wanted to share what Allah has blessed me to experience and discover while studying the Teachings. During my years in the Nation of Islam, I would always ask Believers about their particular method of study. The responses I would receive were often vague. I was seeking some specific method or methods by which I could study these marvelous Teachings. Thus, after countless times of pondering about this issue, Allah blessed me with the idea to put together a how to study package. I thought about various methods I used and what I was able to extract from conversations with others and compiled them.
